I know this simply wouldn't be possible for TERA, but I just think it's a neat idea. This is something I thought of while playing AoC recently (a great game BTW now that all the bugs, imbalances and content issues have been fixed)...It's something kind of similar to what Guild Wars has. It is mainly in regards to griefing or lowbie ganking, which is usually a problem in open PvP games like AoC, L2 (not so much with PK penalty, which can be a bit too restrictive), or like TERA will be. First off not every single zone in the game has to be like this, just a few. To explain the idea, just think of any zone from WoW or any other game you played, typically there is something troubling the people/NPC's of that village, whether it's some rebels, enemy mobs or whatever attacking and terrorizing them, and usually your quests are related to stopping them...Well what if each zone had some sort of storyline arc that you followed which lead to the final instance/boss you would have to defeat to finally free the friendly NPC's of that zone...After you finally complete that (around the time you would be too high level to exp there any more), you will get into the second version of that zone, or the "completed" version, where those mobs would no longer be there. Maybe now there will just be some generic repeatable quests or something like that, but the storyline arc will now be gone and completed... Aside from the PvP benefit of having a dynamic world where you actually feel like you've accomplished something and actually see the world change based on your actions...the added benefit would be that all of the people in the uncompleted/storyline zone would be the same level and not have to worry about higher levels killing or harassing them. Even if someone didn't complete the story, maybe when they get to x level it would just automatically put them as completed so they wouldn't be able to go back and harass lower level players. Anyway just something to think about, I think it would be a great idea.
