In his latest column, MMORPG Community Manager Michael Bitton wonders if ArenaNet and Guild Wars 2 lived up to the hype at this year's GamesCom. With the massive amount of information put forth by the development team and the excitement that it has generated, the team has a lot to live up to. Did they Walk the Walk? The company has made some pretty bold claims for their game, and appears to be positioning their game to create a statement for the genre. Star Wars: The Old Republic was enjoying a very healthy lead hype-wise within the gaming community before Mike O'Brien and Co. threw their hat into the ring, and they're definitely giving the folks down in Austin a run for their money when it comes to fan excitement.
